A guide to how we work with flowers for people.
Full Scale Weddings.
Event Floral Design.
For celebrations that call for complete floral immersion, from personal flowers and table pieces through to large-scale installations and spatial design. Frequently Asked Questions
-
FLWR brings a contemporary design sensibility to naturalistic floral work. Our approach is grounded in restraint, clarity, and close attention to season and material, allowing flowers to retain their natural character while being composed within modern design contexts. Our clients value our calm, considered approach, and the care that underpins it.
-
We create floral experiences for weddings, gatherings, brand activations, and celebrations across Australia. Across projects large and small, our approach remains consistent, shaped by season, context, and the people at the centre of each occasion.
-
Absolutely. While much of our work is anchored in weddings, we also collaborate on editorial projects, brand activations, and creative commissions that align with our ethos of natural, intentional, place-based design.
-
Most of our clients confirm 9–12 months in advance for large-scale events, and 3–6 months for intimate gatherings or elopements. We occasionally accommodate last-minute projects depending on season and capacity. It’s always worth reaching out.
-
We completely understand that planning is an evolving process, and we’re here to support you. Additions and minor adjustments can be made up to four weeks before the event, provided materials haven’t been secured and design work is not in production. Should major changes to the overall design direction be requested once work has begun, an additional design fee may apply to accommodate the extra time and resources required. Reductions to the scope of deliverables do not result in a refund; instead, that portion of the budget is thoughtfully reallocated to another element of the floral design, ensuring balance and continuity across the event.
-
Not at all. We see it as a creative invitation. Working locally keeps our designs alive, textural, and responsive to place. It also supports growers whose practices nurture the same ecological rhythms we design within.
-
We understand that it can be difficult to imagine how floral work will come together, particularly as it is a visual language that takes time to develop. Our approach, however, is rooted in responsiveness rather than replication. We do not create digital mock-ups or rendered previews. This process can limit creative decision-making and often fixes ideas too early, before materials, seasonality, and context are fully known. Our strongest work emerges through trust and thoughtful conversation, allowing the design to develop naturally in response to the season, the available materials, and the conditions of the day.
-
The team size varies according to scale and site. For larger weddings and installations, we assemble a team of experienced florists who share our approach; calm, precise, and attuned to detail.
-
We love to travel across Australia and occasionally abroad. Travel and accommodation for our team are quoted separately once the design scope is defined.
-
Sustainability is woven into every decision we make. We design seasonally, source locally wherever possible, and refrain from foam or single-use plastics. Care for the materials, people, and places we work with sits at the heart of our practice.
-
We begin every collaboration with a written enquiry. From there, we’ll arrange a relaxed phone conversation to get to know you; the people, the place, and the feeling you’re hoping to bring to your day. This is our chance to talk about atmosphere, energy, and what matters most. The process is designed to feel personal, spacious, and clear from the very beginning.
-
Our process is guided by conversation, trust, and attention to detail. It begins with an enquiry and evolves through shared dialogue, visual exploration, and refinement. Once aligned, we translate those ideas into a comprehensive floral design document that becomes the foundation for your celebration. Every stage is a balance of planning and responsiveness; design emerges through collaboration with both you and the seasons. See how it comes to life from inspiration to final installation in this project.
-
Yes, our minimum investments are outlined on the Offerings page and reflect the scale and attention required to create our work at the quality we’re known for. Each event involves design development, material sourcing, and on-site production. A process that calls for time, expertise, and the support of our studio team. Our studio minimum ensures we can approach every project with full creative focus and deliver work that feels intentional and resolved, regardless of size.

Once a booking is confirmed and your retainer is paid, the event date is reserved exclusively for you. Due to the time and resources involved in planning, design development, and holding availability, all deposits are non-refundable. If a cancellation occurs after design work has commenced or materials have been ordered, additional costs may apply to cover labour and production already committed. We understand that plans can change, and we approach these situations with care. If an event is cancelled, the following fees apply based on the event date:
• More than four weeks prior to the event: the deposit is retained, along with any production costs incurred
• Within two weeks of the event date: 75% of the total project fee, plus any production costs incurred
• Within one week of the event date: 100% of the total project fee.
If an event is postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, we will work with you to reschedule within 12 months, subject to availability. Payments made will carry over to the new date, less any non-refundable costs already incurred. If a new date is not confirmed within this period, the agreement will be considered complete.
